Help us get to Haiti... or Tanzania!

When I first heard of the organization, Soles4Souls, the story greatly touched my heart. I couldn't stop thinking about how upon seeing a truck pull up to their school, the children of Jamaica exclaimed "It's Shoes!!!" It filled my heart to see the pure joy and gratefulness that these children showed over receiving ONE pair of shoes.

I love the Soles4Souls organization in that it provides something so simple to those in need... a pair of shoes... Something that most of us have more than we know what to do with!

For the past year or so, my husband and I have been donating to Soles4Souls. I read the blog, view their photographs, follow them on Facebook... but It has always been a dream of mine to do more...

Soles4Souls has opened up their distribution trips to volunteers and to be able to go on one of these trips would be a dream come true for me. I cannot think of any greater joy than to wash a child's feet and fit him or her into their first pair of shoes for the very first time. Your donations will help to send my husband and I on a Soles4Souls distribution trip... to either Haiti or Tanzania!

On the Way to the Grand Canyon...

We just got back from our trip to Arizona to watch Auburn win the National Championship! Scott and I had such a wonderful time with my brother and my parents! While we were there we took a side trip to the Grand Canyon.

Our first stop on the way to the Grand Canyon was to get up close to a cactus!

Our next stop was in Sedona, Arizona. This was a beautiful small town. Our tour guide told us that many Hollywood Stars have second homes here. It was Sunday morning, so there were not many stores open... However, it was still a great place for beautiful scenery!

As we were getting closer to the Grand Canyon, our final stop was at the Cameron Trading Post on the Navaho Native American Reservation. The trading post had many Native American arts and crafts, jewelry, and other novelties.

My work in progress...

Tell me what you think! I've been dreaming of opening a web boutique for a while now... but since I'm not a business major there has been a lot to research and learn about! It's a work in progress, but so far has been a lot of fun!

Our New House...

Scott and I have been talking for a while about possibly buying a house. A few weeks ago, we decided to get serious about it and found a Realtor. Our Realtor, Kelly, met with us one Saturday to go over our options and hear about what we were looking for. The next Wednesday we went to view about 10 houses. We had one favorite that we really loved... We went back to see it on Thursday, and put in our offer that night! We accepted the seller's counter offer on Friday. We still can't believe that we found a house in two weeks! We are under contract right now, and will close on November 18th. We are so excited and can't wait to begin fixing it up!

My 26th birthday...

My 26th birthday was on July 17. Twenty-Six...! Wow! It seems like only yesterday that myself, Erin, and Hannah Marie were counting down the days until our 21st birthdays... those were the days of Niffer's every Thursday night, Auburn football games every weekend, US Band, and Green Lemon... oh, how I miss Auburn so much!

Well, here I am in Atlanta five years later. For my birthday, Scott and I went to the Braves game. The Braves played the New York Mets and it was a special day as Greg Maddux was inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame. His jersey #31 was also retired... but thanks to MARTA, we missed that part! We had a great time at the game and I enjoyed getting to see my favorite, Chipper Jones! The Braves won, 11-0!

Our Engagement Party...

Scott and I had an Engagement Party on July 11th. It was hosted by Tom and Renee Powers at their home on Lake Mitchell. Mrs. Powers was my Kindergarten teacher and it meant so much to have her host a party for us! We had around fifty or so of our closest friends and family come to celebrate with us!

Happy 4th of July!

Scott and I spent our holiday in downtown Atlanta. We had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe and then made our way to Centennial Park. It was so much fun to watch all of the children that were there. They were all in their swim suits, running around in the Fountain of Rings. It was a sight to see! We sat on the lawn and enjoyed some Dippin' Dots ice cream and then watched one of the best fireworks shows in Atlanta!

Sunshine, boats, and family...

Last weekend, Scott and I went to Fairhope, Alabama to visit my cousin Deanna and her family. My parents, along with Brentley and Clay, joined us for the weekend. We had such a great time out in the sun, on the boat, and swimming in the bay!
